Once a therapy session has started, we do not issue refunds. This applies to all in-person, virtual, or phone sessions. Our policy reflects the time, expertise, and preparation dedicated to each session, which are non-refundable resources once the service is provided.
For individual and couples weekly, bimonthly and monthly psychotherapy services, 24-hour notice is required to cancel an appointment. If less than 24 hours is given, you may be charged. Appointments canceled for illness or emergency circumstances will not be charged. The missed and late cancellation appointment fee is $150.00.
Patients are allowed one (1) missed appointment without penalty. After which, any subsequently missed appointment or cancellation with less 24 hours notice will be charged. Missed appointments are appointments in which the patient(s) does not present for their scheduled session within the first 15 minutes of the scheduled start time. The therapist will attempt to contact you via email or secure messaging of your intention to attend the session. Third-party payers (HSA, FSA or insurance) will not cover or reimburse non-health-related fees such as missed or cancellation appointment fees.
Bayani Wellness and Counseling, is a private mental health provider and does not accept commercial health insurance plans.
Payments are due at the time of service and we accept debit, credit, FSA, or HSA (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). All patients must keep a card on file, agreeing to non-service charges being processed as they occur (including late, canceled, administrative and no-show fees).
If you want to keep an HSA or FSA card on file for payment of services, you may do so. However, you will still be required to keep a credit/debit card on file to pay all non-medically covered charges (i.e., reports, consults, late, missed or canceled appointment fees etc.). The financially responsible party will be responsible for keeping all credit card information up to date with this office. Any complications due to out-of-date information may be subject to service charges.
Here are some of our practice policies that new patients are interested in prior to starting therapy. A complete list of policies and procedures is available upon request and after the free consultation.
Therapy is a highly individualistic process, and no two people work on the same timeline. Many start feeling better after a few months of working together. After the consultation, we send a good faith estimate, which is an itemized estimate of your expects costs and timeline of services. After your assessment, we will also design a treatment plan, outlining, your treatment goals, objectives, interventions and treatment timeline.
